The 2012 Winter CISSSA sport program has kicked off with very good results from the Claver teams. We are hoping to continue this form throughout the Winter season and to view these weekly results go the Fixtures and Results tab in the drop down menu.
Combined Secondary School Sport Association (CISSSA) is a sporting association made up of secondary schools in the Ipswich and surrounding districts that aims to:
To provide our students with valuable learning experiences through a well-structured, organized, safe, efficient, and enjoyable sporting competition.
To provide students, in Association premiership winning teams, the opportunity to participate in Metropolitan Finals Competitions.
Promoting school sport and all of the associated “flow on” benefits.
Regularly monitor, and improve the standard of, interschool sport.
To encourage an equitable and co-ordinated effort to administer school sport in this area.
As part of this association St Peter Claver College strives to not only achieve the best possible results on the sporting field, but also lead by example through sportsmanship and fair play. St Peter Claver College has a proud history in this competition, on a number of occasions even taking the award for Champion School of the Year in 2011. As part of the Claver community we are encouraging parental involvement in our CISSSA sports by way of assisting training sessions, transport to and from games, refereeing, filling up water bottles or simply being there to support and encourage your Claver team. Should you have any queries on how you can be part of this, please contact Andy Poynter at the College or via email apoynter@bne.catholic.edu.au or alternatively follow the fixtures weekly to support your team.
